PhD Student

I am a biologist from Colombia with a Master’s degree in Biodiversity Conservation Techniques from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Spain). I am currently conducting my PhD on the functional and phenotypic variation of endemic and threatened rupicolous species of the genus Petrocoptis, providing key insights into their evolutionary background and future prospects to strengthen conservation strategies in the face of global change.

My academic background is rooted in botany and conservation, with experience in projects on phenology, reproductive biology, ecological restoration, and participatory monitoring with rural communities, integrating scientific research with environmental education. Passionate about nature and fieldwork, I also enjoy staying active, traveling, and learning from people and cultures around the world. Yet, my favourite moment remains a simple one — enjoying a cup of Colombian coffee in the Andes at 3,000 meters, surrounded by páramo landscapes and the fresh mountain air.
